Maconha

        Maconha was founded in 1996 by Trindade and Andy Hoggarth, both coming from acting backgrounds.

        Maconha music is atmospheric, image evoking but above all fun.

        They've recorded two cds, maconha (1997) and sambadub (2002).

        Trindade plays interesting variations on Latin themes, which get more boldly imaginative the further into the CD you get. By Track 9, he's off in hot pursuit of some serious improv jazz action.

         The bass playing was rather punky and ham-fisted in a deliberate way and I really liked that about it.

         Its got a kind of rough-hewn quality which I find really attractive.
