The Soulful Drum’n’Bass style and the influence of Brazilian beats and rhythm mixed with live percussion are the main characteristics of the BR-180’s parties.
Having live performances and exploring the mixture of Bossa Nova, Samba and Soul Music with D’n’B makes the night not only an electronic party but also a special Drum’n’Bass show where you can participate, have fun and dance. The summit of the party is when both Dj’s Spyder C and Tisso play back 2 back simultaneously with the latin percussionist Javier.
A great example of this outrageous combination is the growing number of the customers at Lock 17, in Camden Town, because of the Hot Beatz party which happens every Thursdays. Another example of this success was the Rewind parties produced by BR180 in Sao Paulo (Brazil) during the whole year of 2003 which brought together some of the most famous Dj’s and producers of the Brazilian Drum’n’Bass.

DJ Spyder C

Dj Spyder C ( Carlos Lima ) 27, originally from Sao Paulo, started his career as a Dj in 1990 playing Acid House incorporating the Hardcore style and achieving the Drum’n’Bass movement in 1994. In 1997 he won the 1st place in the DJ Mixing Championship in Sao Paulo. Dj Spyder C is always in touch with well-known producers and Djs like Micky Finn, Marky, XRS, Patife, etc). In London Spyder C represents the biggest Brazilian website for Drum’n’Bass DNBonline (www.dnbonline.com.br). Furthermore, he is the creator of the Hot Beatz project at Lock 17 which has the main objective to spread the Brazilian D’n’B and to give the opportunity to new artists to show their skills.
