KIKO PERRONE

Kiko Perrone is a musician from São Paulo where he was born on February 18, 1975. He plays guitar, sings, produces, arranges, composes songs and has many other talents.


Kiko Perrone started playing in 1993 and has performed at the best venues in his home town. In 1997 he started working with Jorge and Guilherme Boratto, the electronic music producers. The Boratto brothers have had international label clients such as The Ministry of Sound and Toco, among others.

They produced the talented Jamaican singer Gabrielle Harban and it was thanks to them that one of her songs was used in a famous Globo soap opera in Brazil.

Kiko Perrone also produced an album with Charles Negrita (who used to play with David Byrne). They made a CD called Batucada Brasileira, Vol. 1 (CPC-Umes, 1999), showcasing many beats, rhythms and melodies from all parts of Brazil.

In 2003 Kiko Perrone co-produced a drum'n'bass album for Kaleidoscopio, Tem que valer, (Som Livre/Mega Music) that became a hit in Brazil. The single 'você me apareceu' by Samuel Braga, arrangements by Kiko and Tchorta, was the third most played song in italy in 2004.

On the following year, the song "Feliz de Novo" (by Kiko Perrone) was chosen by 'Irma records' to play on the summer, in Italy. This year, Kaleidoscpio's cd was released in whole Europe by Warner Music and Japan as well.

Kiko Perrone has been living in London since June 2003 where he has played with many people and all sorts of music. He formed his own original's band, along with KITA STEUER, Kleyton Vithau and Charlie Lewis called 'Mandinga'. Their EP is due to be launched on October 2005.
