        BRIEF ARTIST PROFILE:

        Jörg Wagner is a Brazilian filmmaker who is currently working in the UK.

        His vast professional experience in media covers an expressive range of activities.

        From being a transmission operator and editor at CNBC Television to directing and producing art and experimental filmmaking for art galleries and museums.

        He is also the founder of an independent production company called Best Foot Forward Films. This production company specialises in producing documentaries and promotional films for art, charity and Non Governmental Organisations.

BRIEF FILMOGRAPHY:

2004 – DARKSLIDE (director)


        An original stylised art film, which explores the subject of voyeurism during an unusual photographic session. It is a well-balanced film structure where camera movements, composition and editing are finely complemented by the passionate rhythm of modern tango.

        2002/03 – ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE (producer, director, photography)

        Shot in Brazil, France, Dubai and the UK, this film documents the largest gathering of Non Governmental Organisations and social groups in the world.

        Called the World Social Forum as a deliberate counterbalance to the World Economic Forum, this unique, bright, and colourful event explores contemporary issues on globalisation and the effects of economic policies imposed by rich nations and their corporations at the expense of the poorer nations.

        2001 – INVISIBLE COMMUNITY (producer, director)

        This documentary investigates one of London’s most ‘invisible’ yet influential communities, the Brazilians. This film was part of the ‘Brazil in Mind’ exhibition, commissioned by the Museum of London and the Brazilian embassy.

        1999/00 – LA VITTA E TUTTO (assistant producer, photography)

        It is a documentary on the life of Dr Pietro Pizzo, an Italian doctor who was a cancer terminal patient and survived by following the principles of the holistic therapy.

        The filming production took place in several locations in the UK and Philadelphia USA.

        1998 – ONE TO ONE (assistant director)

        A short film satire on the use of mobile phones as a contemporary and essential tool of communication in today’s society.

        This film was broadcast by the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) which is Norway’s equivalent to the BBC.
