CLASSICAL MUSIC - SOPRANO

Gabriela Di Laccio was born in Brazil and received her Bachelor of Music with first class honour in 1998 from the University of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná-BRAZIL.

During five years she was a member of the "Camerata Antiqua of Curitiba". In 2001 she received a scholarship to study with Jennifer Smith at the Royal College of Music, where she concluded a two years Post-Grad receiving the Early Music Specialist and the Singer-Performer Diplomas.

Gabriela performs regularly as a recitalist and as a member of various chamber groups. As a soloist she has covered a variety of repertoire, including Bach's B minor Mass, St. John Passion and St. Matheus Passion, Handel's Messiah and Dixit Dominus, Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's Exultate Jubilate, Monteverdi's Verpers among others.

Her experience in opera includes the roles of Cleopatra in Handel's, Giulio Cesare, Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Adina in Donizetti's L'Elizir D'Amore and Purcell,s Fairy Queen. She has also participated in concerts and masterclasses with Michael Chance, Catherine Bott, Cristina Banegas, Manfred Kraemer, Marius van Altena, Emma Kirkby and Charles Daniels.

Gabriela is a first prize winner in the prestigious Peter Pears Prize and the Richard the III Prize at the RCM.

Recent and future engagements include concerts at the Wigmore Hall and Newcastle with Florilegium and Emma Kirkby, Concert at the Handel Festival and a Recital with Jennifer Smith, Ian Partridge and Timothy West, a solo concert in St. John’s Smith Sq., a concert with the Amarylis Consort and a solo concert in Brazil.
