A
graduate in Physical Education he also became
involved with performing arts such as acting,
dancing e pantomime. Fernando acted in Brazilian
films and participated in theatre and circus
performances.
In
Lisbon, he acquired large experience working
as a photographer and photography editor for
several magazines. Nowadays Barberá
is a correspondent for various publications
such as the Argentinean newspaper O Clarin
and the Brazilian publications O Globo and
Caras magazine.
Fernando
Barberá was amongst the participants
of the photographic exhibition Brazilian Faces
( Galery 32 ) and had his material screened
in film festivals in Porto Alegre, Brazil
and London.
He also contributes with several independent
cultural projects such as magazines and short
film making among others.
Fernando
Barberá’s work transforms the
camera into a dynamic extension of the body
and its nuances. His many different experiences
give him the ability to always approach and
explore the subject in a new and thus richer
perspective, which can be easily noticed as
in scenes of the School of Samba Mangueira,
Rio de Janeiro as in his photographic documentary
of street dancers in London. |
