This summer at Sadler’s Wells
theatre, witness all the exuberance and energy of Brazil
as 50 performers from Rio de Janeiro bring alive the
spirit that makes Brazil so unique.
From its beginnings as a ritualistic
love dance to the excitement of a modern-day Rio street
carnival, Brasil Brasileiro shows Samba in all its forms,
while dazzling displays of the lightening footwork of
Forró, the agility of Hip Hop and Capoeira and
the groovy moves of Batucada take you on a dance journey
through a country like no other.

Sadler’s
Wells takes to the streets this July to stage a Brazilian
Carnival in Rosebery Avenue and Exmouth Market.
Join us for a fun day of visual spectacle, Samba dancing
and infectious live music on the streets of Islington.
The day starts outside Sadler’s Wells on Rosebery
Avenue with Capoeira and a Brazilian crafts market (2pm),
a huge samba dance class (3pm) and culminates in a colourful
Brazilian Carnival through the closed streets (4pm)
featuring UK carnival groups Paraiso, Quilombo and Mandinga.
