YES TO LIFE, YES TO ARMS CONTROL
www.BrazilianArtists.net are organising an event in
London on 16th October to mark the Brazilian Gun Referendum
which will take place one week later and will be the
first referendum on gun ownership in the world!!!
Our
aims are:
- to mobilise the Brazilian community in the UK and
abroad
- to raise awareness of gun violence in Brazil and about
gun violence in general.
We are starting a campaign via internet and on www.BrazilianArtists.net

On
the programme: screening of documentary 'News from a
Private War' , music videos by Brazilian rapper MV Bill,
short theatre performances followed by an open debate
with guest speakers on a variety of issues.
We
plan to include: urban violence, rural issues, indigenous
issues, social injustice, children, gender issues, economic
issues.
Although
Brazilians living abroad cannot vote, we can influence
our family and friends back home.
Besides
your important attendance, we also hope to attract media
attention and contribute as an organisation which aims
to represent Brazil abroad.
Most
importantly, we hope to inspire as many people as possible
to support gun control in Brazil and around the world.
